Scorinators
For generating scores in various sports. A scorinator in 2010 will incorporate ways for team ranking and roleplay bonuses to influence, but not decide, match results.

Golfinator golf scorinator by The Babbage Islands is a spreadsheet in .ods format. (Excel version) (Help file)
Miscellanator 1.08 multi-sport scorinator by The Babbage Islands. First public release includes Babbage rules football, baseball, curling, gridiron, team handball, international rules (compromise Gaelic/Australian) football, quidditch, and ultimate. This is an .ods spreadsheet. (Help file) The Excel export for Miscellanator is buggy, I hope it will return soon.
NSFootySim 2.0.7.2, a Java-based application, scorinates four types of football: soccer, American, rugby league and rugby union. It was created by Vephrall with significant work on extensions by Dancougar, Newmanistan and others.
NSFS3 by Vephrall, the latest in the series, does not have the rugby support of 2.0.7.2 but does support baseball. The interface is vastly improved for a much better user experience.
Tennis 0.2 by Schiavonia is an Excel workbook in a zip archive.
Tennis/Cycling Scorinator by Liventia is an Excel-based pair of spreadsheets now in one workbook.
xkoranate by Commerce Heights handles many, many sports including all current Olympic disciplines and events. It was the scorinator of choice for the last several Summer and Winter Olympics on NS. As a version 0, it lacks documentation and has a bit of a learning curve. Newest version is 0.3.0.
Name resources
Active players in NS Sports often need to come up with many names quickly for a team roster. Here are some proven resources for random names and/or multicultural name research.
Behind the Name (for first names)
Kate Monk’s Onomastikon is not a name generator, but it is a huge source of both given names and family names from diverse cultures.
Name Generator by Commerce Heights. My personal favourite. I contributed the Icelandic names here, you’ll find US, English, German, Quebecois, Korean, Russian, and Greek names as well plus several invented lists for other NS nationalities.
Uniform resources
A well-dressed team is a happy team. These players will sometimes fill orders for team kits. It’s time-consuming and offered free, so be patient and nice. Be sure to read the kit-maker’s instructions before ordering!

In addition to the site itself, the following two sites are player-created references for the world of NationStates. They include a wealth of sporting history.
NSWiki is a large user-created encyclopedia of the NationStates world.
WikiStates is similar to NSWiki, not as large or as widely-used by NS Sports players.
